I have been using Kodi for a few years now. I have just upgraded to 18.2. In the past, I would always use Ares Wizard to make a complete back up for my firestick. Save the zip file from using ES File Explorer to the cloud and then copy the zip file to all of the firesticks in my home. I learn that Ares Wizard will no longer allow you to back up your configuration once you install kodi 18 and higher. Ares Wizard will not allow you to select a destination folder path. Once you select the destination path and select ok, it will revert back to no location selected. Any recommendations on a backup solution similar to Ares Wizard? Or another way I can easily back up my configuration on one firestick and transfer it to another firestick?
hey Ian,I recently bought this android box (2gb, 16gb) called x96 mini. Everything is working fine but whenever i try to install any build (that works for other people), the build downloads but when the files are being copied after downloading, kodi simply crashes and the box restarts. When i open kodi then, nothing has changed. What do I do? Can i never install a build?
Hello,I bought a firestick to download kodi too. I have tried to download no limits and placenta and about 3 others. Not one of them would let me put the build into kodi. I got the failed message about add-ons. I run single movie apps like Terrarium Tv on the stick. I would really like to use Kodi. HELP!!!
i just bought the 96+ pro with 3gb 32 gb memory, and KDMC is loaded on but only 17.4. no matter what i do it will not allow me to upgrade to 17.6. i have tried downloading it from playstore, but it says it is already installed. why wont it allow me to upgrade it? is it because it is in KDMC format and not Kodi?
ok so when i look to see what version of kodi i have it saya 16.1.. , but if i gomto play store to download 17.1 it says uninstall or open .. just a little lost here exdus has quit and im hoping to get back going soon
i have a QBox device 5.1.1 and kodi 16.1. Tryed to update to kodi 17.1 but none of the downloads work, Ive tried Google Play (device not supported) ARMV7A 32bit (wouldnt install) AEMV8a 64bit (wouldnt install) X86 (wouldnt install).I still have kodi 16.1 installed on the device, do I need to uninstall first?
Hi the only way you can install the new version you have to delete kodi 16.0 or 16.1 which ever you have and then download the new version of kodi 17.1 you will get error saying app not install because you need to delete the older version of kodi unorder to install the new version
If you already have a previous version of Kodi installed, then download the .exe and install Kodi 17.6 in the same location you installed the previous version of Kodi, and that will update your version to Krypton.
Kodi 18 is named as Kodi Leia similar to other versions of Kodi such as Kodi Jarvis, Krypton and now Leia. A lot of people had been asking for Kodi download setup for windows 10 (64 bit). But unfortunately there had been an unavailability until the beta version of Kodi 18 came to life. This nightly version performs all the basic tasks and runs quite smooth as of December 2017. (check out best kodi setup wizards for leia version 18)
If you are running an older version of Kodi and need an upgrade, then the process remains similar. This is because Kodi does not offer an automatic updater built-in to its software. Therefore, you will have to download the latest version from its official website onto your device and run the installation process to update kodi on windows 10 or 8.
The latest Kodi module (Kodi 17/17.6) includes joypad support by default. Some joypads are detected and work out-of-the-box like PS3, Xbox360, Logitech, iBuffalo, Retrolink SNES, and more. If your joypad doesn't work OOTB or you prefer to add your custom keymap, create the file /home/pi/.kodi/userdata/keymaps/joystick.xml like the following:
I too experience video stuttering playback issues on a RPi2 with Kodi 18.x on LE 9.x with 1080i MPEG2 North American Over-The-Air TV content. The cause of the video stuttering appears to be a change in the default automatic deinterlacer to Adv(2x) in Kodi 18.x used in LE 9.0.2. On LE 8.2.5 with Kodi 17.6 the default automatic deinterlacer is Bob(2x). To work-around the issue you can manually select the deinterlacer from the in-playback kodi menu.
Kodi has the built-in optional function to automatically download metadata information, cover art and other related media artwork online through its web scrapers that looks for media in the user's audio and video folders and their sub-directories. These "scrapers" are used as importers to obtain detailed information from various Internet resources about movies and television shows. It can get synopses, reviews, movie posters, titles, genre classification, and other similar data. XBMCGUI then provides a rich display for audio and video files that the scrapers have identified.
The following recipes were tested with Kodi 17.6 (codenamed Krypton) on a Raspberry Pi, running Raspbian Stretch. The default skin is called Estuary, which is very nice indeed. We wished to make only a very few adjustments: but applying those few changes proved to be much more harder than expected, so we resumed our findings in this page.
This is the only method you need to know to upgrade or update your kodi. By default, this method will update your kodi to the latest available version. To Update Kodi on firestick make sure to enable Apps from unknown sources. To do this go to firestick settings, and select devices > Developer option. And turn On Apps from unknown sources. 2b1af7f3a8
