TeamViewer is a free to download remote administration software developed by TeamViewer GmbH for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, Android, and iOS operating systems. TeamViewer is a very unique and secure program, allowing you to do a number of things such as remotely access (or allow remote access to) your computer with TeamViewer, share your screen, transfer files, and more.
Reason being that the last TeamViewer release for Yosemite 10.10 was TV v13.2.75535 or 75536 released on Apr 23 2019. (note that the program shows its final version node as 75535 in some places, and 75536 in the About TeamViewer Apple Menu info window when running the program).
When I try to connect to a computer running any TeamViewer QuickSupport release of version 13 or less, I am given a warning that program will timeout/stop after 5 minutes since the QS version is too old. But when I update the remote computer to TV QS version 14, now TeamViewer (full) on my Mac states it cannot control a newer remote QS version. So it asks if I wish to update my local FULL TeamViewer (from v13 to 14). I know it will fail, but click yes install anyway. It downloads v 14, then insists that there is no compatible computer hard drive.
Since the QS must be running version 14 to avoid the 5-minute timeout limitation, and since my iMac Yosemite can only run last final release of version 13, and since TeamViewer 'rule' is that the TeamViewer Full (controlling side) must be at same or higher version than QS side -- well I can no longer make it work.
But when there is a meeting set up with TV 11, I can not join this meeting with my TV13. It gives a message: "Unable to connect: The meeting you are trying to join is incompatible with your TeamViewer version. Please use TeamViewer QuickJoin instead."
After this message, I downloaded TeamViewer QuickJoin. But there is the same message when I try to join the meeting. So I have no connection from TV13 to a meeting in TV11. This is important, because the Browser version isn't good for it.
Is the backward compatibility only for the paid version or will it work on a free version as well?I have an untended PC, running version 10 or 11 (not 100% sure), I tried connecting with version 13 (free) and 14(free) but I get the following message:
The remote TeamViewer is running an old version which is out of date. Therefore you cannot connect to this Version anymore. Your connection partner can update TeamViewer by clicking on "Help"-Check for New Version".
My mother and I both have older Macs. I tried installing the latest version of TV, but was told my computer was too old, so I installed the compatible 10x version. Mom did the same with the QuickSupport program.
When I put in the ID numbers she gave me, I got a message that I couldn't connect to her because she was using an older version of QS and to tell her to install the latest version. Well, the latest version doesn't work on her computer! How are we supposed to connect?
We paid for an unlimited license channel and teamviewer launches an incompatible version with these unlimited channels. and we can't speak to other TeamViewer user if thez have a différent version installed !
My mother-in-law is 94 and needs help once in a while with her computer. I cannot help her in person because of COVID-19, and I'm trying to do that with TeamVIewer. She has an old Macintosh (OS 10.9.5) that cannot be upgraded to a later OS and TV 9. I have TV 14, but installed version 12 since it is the oldest version that works with my Mac OS (10.13.6). According to -Base/Which-operating-systems-are-supported/ta-p/24141#, her Mac should work with TV 12, but she says that "Check for update" will only install a later version of 9. When I try to connect to her computer with TV 12 or 14, I get the message that she has an outdated version. I hope you will be able to help with this unusual and ccasional situation, and make it possible for me to help her without making one or both us purchase a subscription.
If you're like me and many others who help their less tech-savvy friends and family, then TeamViewer Host may be your solution. It was developed for use on unattended computers, such as server interfaces and inherently does not need to be updated often. It cannot create outgoing connections, but that should be fine when used for the support recipient. The best part is it requires zero interaction from the recipient. No IDs or passwords have to be given, you can access an older version with newer versions, and I believe you can even remotely update the TeamViewer Host, if I recall correctly. This will require some trust from both parties, though, as you can technically access their computer at anytime. All of this comes with the free version, too. I do not own a purchased license, and I use this method. Hope this helps..
I decided to install a previous version, latest one I could download was 12.0.92876 and everthing is working fine, as TV connects screen viewer stops or screen wakes, so seems to be a glitch in 13.2.5321. I wanted to try earlier versions on 13 but none are available for download.
I have found the early versions of 13. I downloaded them and the very last version before the current one (ver 13.1.4170) is working fine for me. I got them from filehippo and a virus check didn't flag up any problems. Seems to take a little longer to start first time but then it is fine.
If you install an earlier copy (13.1.4170 worked for me) remember to turn off "Install new versions automatically" (Preferences - Advanced) or else it will put the new one in and you won't realize till next time you try and remote connect!

I just install the last update from teamviewer from your home page on my macbook and it does start... When I ask the application to start, le logo "jump" for around 2min and then it stop jumping but nothing appen... Can you help me please
I just purchased a new mac which unfortunately comes with High Sierra. I download TV13 but i am unable to sign in. I enter my password and nothing happens. So I tried it on my friend's macbook air with el capitan. SAME THING. I can no longer support my customers unless I am on a version lower than 13. BUt I've upgraded many users to TV13 so I can't connect to them at all unless i use a stupid windows machine.
I've updated latest version and now cannot log in. I've uninstalled and re-installed and still nothing. This is really frustrating. As a full commercial user I find it appauling that I cannot do any promised work since I cannot log into my contacts. When will this issue be taken seriously and a solution provided?
I have got an old Mac whose latest compatible operating system is up to 10.11 El Capitan. I noticed that the highest compatible version for El Capitan is 15.2 on Which operating systems are supported?, however, I didn't find where the 15.2 version is for downloading. The article says here is for downloading, but only 14, 13, 12, 11 and 10 is available, no 15.2
Yes - it looks like there is currently an issue on our webpage which leads to the fact, that you can only download the latest TeamViewer version even though you are working on a -let´s say- macOS 10.11, which is not supported for TeamViewer in version 15.3.
We are already working on a fix, but for the meantime, I am happy to provide you with the correct download links for TeamViewer 15.2 in this article: -active-support-of-macOS-10-11-and-macOS-10-12/td-p/81565
FYI: One little trick I just found out is you can download and install version 14, then, from WITHIN the version 14 application, click on the menu option for check for updates, and it will download (as of today 1/3/22) version 15.2.2756, NOT anything newer which is great, as it will work correctly, with the older OS versions. I was not easily able to find it myself, as the direct links download the NEWEST version of the 15 family, but don't make it easy to find the 15.2 that we needed.

Rossmanith GmbH released the first version of TeamViewer software in 2005, at that time still based on the VNC project.[15] The IT service provider wanted to avoid unnecessary trips to customers and perform tasks such as installing software remotely.[16] The development was very successful and gave rise to TeamViewer GmbH, which today operates as TeamViewer Germany GmbH and is part of TeamViewer AG.[17]
The functionality of TeamViewer differs depending on the device and variant or version of the software. The core of TeamViewer is remote access to computers and other endpoints as well as their control and maintenance.[26] After the connection is established, the remote screen is visible to the user at the other endpoint. Both endpoints can send and receive files as well as access a shared clipboard, for example.[27] Besides, some functions facilitate team collaboration, such as audio and video transmissions via IP telephony.[28] 2b1af7f3a8
